Working against the odds

It's a nice Sunday afternoon and I thought that it will be a good time to do a recap of 2021 with everything that is happening around.  It's crazy how time flies and we are already midway through 2021. I guess the most important lesson I've learnt in 2021 is that when life gets suffocating, just give it a little pause and take a break. What's life if it isn't living? If it isn't happiness and joy, why do we live life?  Actually, life isn't all that complicated. We are all just too confined with the norms and targets set out by society. What defines success? And what defines the rights and wrongs? Are we going to let these consume us?  Apart from ourselves, are we really held accountable to others? Do we really need to care for the rest. In the past few many months, I found myself in ways I never thought I would. I've surprised myself and friends when they told me they never knew I was capable of such love, patience, desperation and tolerance.  Deep in th...

Putting the wrong faith

I had to clean up my blog a little so that my blog isn't so filled up with rage and resentment.  This year has been an incredibly tough year. I honestly can't wait for my turn to say at the end of the year what an incredible year it has been.  I have never knew how truly disappointed I can be in a person.  I have never knew the significance behind "actions speaks louder than words." I have never knew how scary it would be to have a complete change in impression towards someone.  I have never knew how desperate I could get.  I have never knew how hurt I could be. I have never knew how painful consequences could be based on one seemingly innocent decision. I have never knew how it would feel to envision a whole life in front of you only for it disintegrate right in front of your very eyes.  Woah, I am so tired.  If someone could simply just take my life away from me, please do because I'm so sick of it.

When you see a battle

 I'm done trying.

Indispensable

When I visited my very first Feng Shui consulting, I secretly rolled my eyes when the Feng Shui master told me that I have a tendency to be reliant on others and that it will be beneficial if I can learn to be more independent. That was when I knew the whole session was going to be bullshit because for the whole of my life, I have been nothing but independent.  While I was the youngest in the family, I have never once gotten any help from my siblings or my parents when it comes to school work. I always thought that it was an entitled privilege but I've slowly learnt that it wasn't the case. I don't have my siblings sitting down to teach me or sit me through a Mathematics problem. But it was fine. I have always accounted it to the fact that I really didn't require external help any way.  Even when I was away and abroad in a foreign land all alone, I sourced for my own school, my own tickets, my own accommodation and flew abroad my own. When I was in Poland and I didn...

Hypocrites

Honestly there are 3 things that come to mind when I think of hurtful words to hear from a person. 1. You're a disappointment. 2. You're a hypocrite. 3. You've no right. These phrases/ sentences are generally derogatory, seemingly to undermine and demean someone's character or beliefs that someone holds closely to the heart.  When you're being told to be a disappointment, you're not living up to the expectations of someone you wish to impress. But instead, you left a distasteful note on someone who had once held high hopes for you because it was thought to be deserving.  When you're being told to be a hypocrite, you're being reminded that you have double standards towards yourself and the general public, and that most likely,  you're conveniently concealing your flaws to make life easier for yourself, but not others with the same benchmark. When you're being told that you have no right to interfere or meddle in a situation, you have lost all pri...

Milestones

This is going to be a quick post, unedited and not proof-read. Okay, so my sister just gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighed 3.3kg an hour back and it really hits me on the milestones in the life achieved so far. As I went to her Instagram page, I see her first year wedding anniversary photo, her wedding photo, my convocation photo, my 21st, the very first time I travelled alone - my exchange, our first halloween together... Very soon I'll be taking up a new position at my job, maybe soon to come with a different company, in years to come maybe marriage.. Time flies and I really think life is so interesting because everyone is going through different paths and experiences. Don't get me wrong, I've always thought life is pretty scary because there is no formula to 'perfect' life. I have never liked life after education because suddenly, it isn't well planned out any more. But honestly down the road, observing people, I beg to differ because it's exac...

Wallflower

"We accept the love we think we deserve." This quote got stuck in my mind for the past few days like a ear worm, except there wasn't any experience or media that should remind me of this statement. & I have never liked this quote.
